Zen bot in Python — automating interaction with the platform using Selenium

This project is a software solution developed in Python, designed to automate various actions on the Yandex Zen platform. The application is based on the Selenium library, which provides browser management, and the graphical interface created using Tkinter makes using the program convenient even for users without programming experience.

The main purpose of the application is to automate the process of working with comments. Instead of performing repetitive actions manually, the user can run pre-prepared scripts, which significantly reduces the time spent on processing a large number of publications.

Selenium WebDriver is used to interact with the web interface. The program automatically opens the Firefox browser, loads the necessary pages, finds the necessary interface elements and performs the actions provided by the script. This approach ensures the most realistic interaction with the site and allows you to flexibly adapt your work to changes in the web interface.

One of the features of the project is the ability to generate a list of pages for processing without changing the source code of the program. All links are located in an external file. links.txt , which can be easily edited with a regular text editor. This allows the user to quickly change the list of publications without affecting the internal logic of the application.

The settings file is used to store the parameters.the json in which the main program settings are saved. This allows you to automatically restore previously entered data after restarting and saves the user from having to perform the initial configuration every time.

The graphical interface is based on the Tkinter library and includes all the necessary controls. In the program window, the following options are available:

comment text input field;
start, stop, and shutdown buttons;
authorization method switch;
fields for entering credentials;
automatic loading of saved parameters at the start of the application.

The program supports several authorization options. If necessary, you can use pre-saved cookies in JSON format, which allows you to quickly restore an active session without logging into your account again. There is also a classic authorization method via the Yandex login form with automatic filling of the required fields.

Working with page elements is implemented using XPath and CSS selectors. The application independently determines the comment field, inserts the prepared text, and sends it after checking the availability of the relevant interface elements. To increase reliability, waiting mechanisms for page loading and additional time delays are used, so that the program works stably even with an unstable Internet connection.

The architecture of the project is built using multithreading. The main automation process is performed in a separate thread, so the graphical interface remains responsive throughout the program. The user can stop script execution, change settings, or shut down the application without the window hanging.

An additional advantage is the automatic saving of the current state of the program. After closing the application, all the entered parameters are written to the configuration file and will be restored the next time you start.
