To determine the speed of sound in air, the installation shown in Fig. is used. 38.6. A 1.20 kHz sound source is installed near the top end of a narrow pipe; by moving the left vessel we change the liquid level in the narrow pipe. Resonant sound is observed at air column lengths of 6.8 cm, 20.6 cm and 34.8 cm. Determine the speed of sound and estimate the error of the obtained value.
