A zener diode S is a conductor, the idealized characteristic of which is shown in Fig. 26.21. A zener diode is connected in series with a conventional resistor R to a current source with emf E. Neglecting the internal resistance of the source, determine the current strength in the circuit, as well as the potential difference across the zener diode and the resistor.
