The copper strip can swing around an axis (Fig.). At the same time, it intersects the magnetic field normal to the plane of the drawing. If the strip is equipped with slits, as shown in the figure, then it swings, freely crossing the magnetic field. If there are no slits in the strip, then its oscillatory motion is greatly damped. Explain this phenomenon.
