A long paramagnetic rod with a diameter of d = 5 mm is balanced on a scale, with one end of the rod located between the poles of a magnet creating a horizontal magnetic field, and the other in an area where this field is small. If the magnetic induction of the field is B = 1 T, then the apparent increase in the mass of the rod is 1.5 g. What is the magnetic susceptibility of the material of the rod? This method of measuring magnetic susceptibility is called the Huy method.
