Linearly polarized light of the indicated wavelength, occupying the spectral interval Dl = 40 nm, is normally incident on a quartz plate cut parallel to the optical axis. Find the thickness of the plate d and the direction of polarization of the incident light if the light after the plate turns out to be unpolarized.
