The copper plate is sealed between steel plates of the same area, but twice as thin. Find the effective temperature coefficient of expansion of such a system in length if the temperature coefficients of linear expansion of copper am = 1.7•10-5K-1 and steel ast = 1.2•10-5K-1 are known, and the Young’s modulus of steel is twice as high as for copper, and is equal to 2•1012 dynes/cm2.
