In an evacuated cylinder closed at both ends, a frictionless sliding piston is suspended on a spring, the equilibrium position of which is at the bottom of the cylinder. Such an amount of gas is introduced into the space under the piston that the piston rises to a height h (Fig. 81). At what height h1 will the piston be installed if this gas is heated from the initial temperature T to T1? The force exerted by the spring on the piston is proportional to the displacement of the piston.
