The extraction constant of Zn(Ox)2 is 2.5x10-5, and Pb(Ox)2 is 1.0x10-8. Calculate the separation coefficient of metals at pH 4.00, provided that the volumes of the phases are equal, (cZn = cPb = 1.0•10-4 mol/l).
Answer: α = 2.5•103.
