The F2 molecule and molecular ions are considered: F2 and F2-.
Using the MO method, explain the formation of a chemical bond in a molecule and in molecular ions. For a molecule, depict the energy scheme of the initial AO and formed MO. Write down the electronic formulas of all particles and determine the bond order in them. Which particles can exist and which one is the most stable.
