The figure shows a diagram of a potentiometer with which you can change the voltage U supplied to a certain device with a resistance R. The potentiometer has a length L, resistance Ro and is energized Uo. Find the voltage U removed to the device as a function of the distance X. Study separately the case R >> Ro.
